Role Description The Director of Retail Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in Jackson, WY, responsible for overseeing the performance, efficiency, and standards of all Cowboy Coffee Co. retail locations. This role designs and implements operational strategies, manages store-level processes, and ensures that daily activities align with company goals for service quality, profitability, and brand consistency. The Director leads and mentors store managers and teams, sets performance expectations, monitors key metrics, and coordinates staffing, training, and development initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include optimizing workflows, managing budgets and inventory controls, reviewing customer feedback, and supporting the rollout of new products, policies, and systems. The Director collaborates closely with leadership on strategic planning and maintains a strong presence in the stores to guide operations and uphold an excellent customer experience.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in Retail Operations and Operations Management, with experience overseeing multiple locations or complex store environments.
  • Strong Team Management and leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and building inclusive, high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in Budgeting and financial oversight, including forecasting, cost control, and analyzing store-level P&L results.
  • Commitment to outstanding Customer Service, with the ability to set service standards, address escalated issues, and improve the overall guest experience.
  • Relevant experience in food and beverage or hospitality retail; coffee or café operations experience is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with using point-of-sale systems, basic data analytics tools, and standard office software to track performance and support decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
