Role Description The General Manager role at Cafe Landwer is a full-time, on-site position based in Boston, MA. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and floor supervision to ensure smooth service and consistent guest satisfaction. This role manages and mentors team members, leads hiring and training efforts, and fosters a positive, inclusive workplace culture. The General Manager oversees inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships, monitors quality and presentation of food and beverages, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and company standards. Additional responsibilities include managing budgets, analyzing sales performance, implementing local marketing initiatives, and handling guest feedback to continuously improve the overall experience.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in restaurant, café, or hospitality management, with a strong focus on day-to-day operations and team leadership.
• Proficiency in staff supervision, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance feedback, and coaching for a diverse team.
• Ability to manage inventory, ordering, vendor coordination, and cost control to meet financial targets and maintain product quality.
• Strong customer service skills, with the capacity to handle guest inquiries, resolve concerns, and promote a welcoming atmosphere.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards, with a commitment to regulatory compliance.
• Solid organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with basic financial management, such as budgeting, sales analysis, and reporting, is highly beneficial.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and company leadership.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by café operations.
• Prior experience in a Mediterranean or European-style dining concept and familiarity with Israeli cuisine is a plus.
