We're looking for our General Manager.

*Read thoroughly for instructions on how to apply.

Trellis Coffee Bar is a third-wave coffee shop in Augusta, GA, and it's a place people genuinely

love. We believe coffee can be a catalyst for community, and everything we build reflects that.

The space, the team, the experience. All of it.

We've been owner-led since day one. Now we're ready for the next chapter, and we're looking

for the person who's going to lead it.

THE ROLE

The General Manager is the heartbeat of Trellis. You own the day-to-day operations, develop

the team, and make sure every shift reflects the standards we've built this place on.

Initiative, coupled with a competitive drive and the ability to stay focused on results despite

changing conditions, is the key to achieving this job's performance objectives. Because

environmental and organizational conditions change rapidly, the work requires innovation and

creativity to generate ideas for quick responses. Decision-making is focused on implementing

practical, timely solutions. Self-assurance and the confidence to purposefully drive toward

results while constantly problem-solving and engaging others' commitment are essential. A firm,

goal-oriented leadership style that motivates, trains, and engages others in an enthusiastic way

is important. The emphasis on building rapport and relationships with individuals and groups

requires an outgoing, poised, and persuasive communication style.

Because the pace of the work is faster than average, the ability to learn quickly and thoroughly

while continually recognizing and adapting to changing conditions is critical. The scope of the

job may require effective delegation to proven people. Especially routine and repetitive details

should be delegated, but with responsibility for follow-up and accountability for timely results.

While the job requires the ability to act independently, a sense of urgency, and the confidence to

handle a variety of challenges, this position also requires a full commitment to the business's

success and high standards of achievement. The emphasis is on results and on effective

systems that achieve them through and with people, rather than on the details of

implementation.

This is not a managing-from-the-back-office role. You're present, engaged, and setting the tone

every day. You know the numbers, the team, and the rhythms of the shop, and you act before

problems become fires.

We're building toward $1,000,000 in annual revenue and a second location. The GM is the

person who makes that possible.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Hiring, developing, holding accountable, and building a culture that people are proud to be part of
  • Daily operations, shift flow, standards, checklists, inventory, scheduling, and everything in between
  • The numbers, labor at or below 28%, COGS between 17–25%, a 4.7+ Google rating
  • The customer experience, every guest feels the warmth, the quality, and the care
  • Seasonal menu development, health and safety compliance, and vendor management
  • A monthly report to the COO covering financials, operations, team, and what's next

WHO YOU ARE

  • 3+ years leading a team in hospitality, food service, or a fast-paced environment
  • Financially fluent, labor %, COGS, and P&L are tools you actually use
  • A people developer, you coach, challenge, and bring out the best in those around you
  • Servsafe certified or ready to be before July 15
  • Someone who finds meaning in the details, energy in a well-run shift, and pride in the community this place creates

WHAT GREAT LOOKS LIKE

The shop runs every day with no chaos, no dropped balls, no surprises. The team shows up,

takes ownership, and holds each other to a high standard. People genuinely love working here.

Every guest feels it the moment they walk in. The operation is clean, organized, and always

inspection-ready.
