Thuma is looking for a Lead Barista to join our new Cherry Creek team. Reporting to the Store Manager, this position will play a pivotal role in the seamless functioning and overall success of Thuma at Cherry Creek.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Lead Barista to be the heart and soul of our cafe experience. As our Lead Thuma Barista, you'll be an integral part of creating a warm, inviting atmosphere, serving exceptional coffee, and providing top-notch customer service and upholding standards within the cafe team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be an extension of the Thuma retail team and create an environment where people like to spend time
  • Manage cafe inventory, assist in placing orders, and monitoring stock levels in collaboration with the Store Manager
  • Ensure compliance of local health regulations are closely followed
  • Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Mentor baristas, providing guidance and training
  • Ensure exceptional coffee quality through proper brewing techniques and recipe adherence
  • Create and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and resolve issues promptly
  • Collaborate with management to optimize cafe efficiency and performance
  • Uphold Thuma's commitment to ethical business practices, sustainability and 6-star customer service
  • Have great communication between cafe and retail teams to ensure the cafe is covered and all customers are being assisted in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement new coffee offerings and seasonal promotions


What You'll Need

  • Previous experience as a Lead Barista or similar role in a cafe
  • This job requires the ability to work in-person at the Thuma Cafe in Cherry Creek
  • This job requires availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • You’re a people person and like interacting with others
  • Extensive knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso preparation, and latte art
  • Possess a Denver Food Safety Manager card or be willing to obtain one
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-centric approach


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods
  • Capacity to lift and move medium to large items, up to 75 lbs., using proper equipment and safety techniques
