Role Description:

Good Pick Coffee is looking for an experienced Lead Event Barista who can take ownership of beverage service and help lead our barista team at premium events across Los Angeles.

This role combines specialty coffee expertise with leadership and event operations. You’ll maintain drink quality, coordinate baristas during service, help manage inventory and equipment, and support client interactions and potential event sales opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate a small team of event baristas

• Maintain consistent espresso, matcha, and foam drink quality during service

• Work confidently on La Marzocco espresso machines

• Manage event inventory, ingredients, supplies, and equipment readiness

• Help organize setup, service flow, breakdown, and equipment movement

• Support professional client and guest interactions

• Identify and support potential sales opportunities for future events when appropriate

• Help maintain Good Pick Coffee’s service and presentation standards

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years of specialty coffee / professional barista experience preferred

• Strong proficiency with La Marzocco espresso machines

• Excellent espresso preparation skills across cortados, flat whites, cappuccinos, and lattes

• Experience preparing matcha and foam drinks

• Coffee cart, catering, event, or high-volume service experience strongly preferred

• Previous leadership, shift lead, or team management experience

• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable lifting and moving equipment up to approximately 50 lb

Role structure:

This is initially an event-based contract position with competitive pay and flexible scheduling, with potential to grow into a full-time leadership role as Good Pick Coffee expands.
