Company Description Chocolaterie Stam Ames is seeking a full-time manager. Chocolaterie Stam began in Amsterdam in 1913. Two descendants eventually moved to America and introduced Chocolaterie Stam to America. You’ll meet clients from all over the world as you sell fine European chocolates, artisanal hand-crafted gelato and barista drinks. We are located in the heart of Downtown Ames where we receive customers from all over the US and the world.

Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Manager at Chocolaterie Stam Ames, located in Ames, IA.

Education/Skills required, but not limited to:

1. Minimum HS grad or GED

Preferred skills:

1. Prior retail experience
2. Square POS experience
3. ServSafe certification
4. Prior management experience a plus

Qualities required, but not limited to:

1. Strong work ethic
2. Dependable (follows through on tasks)
3. Positive attitude to help maintain a positive work environment
4. Self-motivated
5. Team oriented
6. Effective communicator - orally and written

Duties include, but not limited to:

1. Scheduling, Managing, and directing PT employees
2. Actively work on the sales floor interacting with customers and employees to achieve shop sales goals
3. Shift coverage as needed (employee sickness, emergencies, special events, etc.)
4. Oversee day to day operations
5. Manage / monitor special orders
6. Manage / monitor inventory
7. Manage floor displays and pricing
8. Ensure and assist in shop and equipment cleanliness
9. Learn to use Square POS retail system and management back page
10. Organize, implement, and validate staff training. Training will include, but not be limited to, sales, merchandizing, daily task list, Square POS, and product training
11. Participate in interviewing of potential new employees
12. Maintain good employee relations
13. Learn and maintain high standards of Chocolaterie Stam
14. Coordinate and assist in special events, tours, etc.
15. Oversee store specials and Stam educational talks (as needed)
16. Create and host exciting events to build the Stam brand
17. Take and pass Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division online alcohol sales training
18. Promote Stam via social media
19. Become ServSafe certified within 6 months of employment
