Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role in Minneapolis, MN.
You'll work directly with customers, architects, and contractors to plan roastery spaces. That covers equipment placement, workflow, and the exhaust systems that let a coffee roaster run safely, efficiently, and to code. When a customer buys an MCR roaster (or even before they purchase), you'll provide drawings/advice on where roasters should be placed inside their spaces and the placement of venting, power, and gas.
Between projects, you'll work on our engineering team on the roasters themselves as well as other fabrication projects we'll be tackling in 2027. You'll contribute to mechanical design, and produce drawings and documentation.
What you'll do
Roastery Design (primary focus): Develop roastery layouts that balance workflow, equipment clearances, and building constraints. Design and specify exhaust, airflow, and emissions systems for M-Series installations. Specify and coordinate the materials each installation needs. Work with customers, architects, mechanical contractors, and code officials from concept through install. Create floor plans, building sections, installation drawings, and pre-install requirements for each project.
Roaster Engineering (supporting): Build and maintain part and assembly models in Autodesk Inventor. Create and maintain drawings, BOMs, and fabrication instructions. Collaborate with our operations team to ensure purchased parts are sourced and available for production.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in using Autodesk Inventor is required
- Proficiency in modeling and drawing creation
- Ability to collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality models, BOMs, and documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to build consensus with team members
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and through drawings
- Experience in the fields of engineering, architecture, construction, or fabrication
