School CNP / Custodian

Promesa Academy Charter School is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and service-oriented School CNP / Custodian for the 2026-2027 school year. This position supports both the school’s Child Nutrition Program and custodial operations to help maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Primary Responsibilities

Child Nutrition Program Duties

• Assist with the preparation, serving, and distribution of student meals.
• Follow established meal schedules, portion requirements, and food-service procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, cafeteria, serving areas, and food-storage spaces.
• Follow all food-safety, hygiene, and health requirements.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food and kitchen supplies.
• Maintain accurate meal counts and other required documentation, as assigned.
• Support cafeteria setup, student meal service, and cleanup.
• Follow all Child Nutrition Program guidelines and school procedures.
  
  
  

Custodial Duties

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, empty trash, and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
• Restock restroom, classroom, and custodial supplies.
• Assist with campus setup and cleanup for meetings, programs, and special events.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or supply needs.
• Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and custodial equipment.
• Help maintain exterior grounds, entrances, sidewalks, and loading areas.
• Complete additional cleaning and campus-support duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current Food Handler Certification, or the ability to obtain certification before beginning employment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attendance, reliability, and time-management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with students, staff, families, and visitors.
• Willingness to complete required food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety training.
• Prior food-service or custodial experience is preferred but not required.
  
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around cleaning products, kitchen equipment, heat, and food-service environments.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
