Terrain Café is seeking a dedicated and passionate Server to join our front-of-house team. From greeting guests to recommending food and beverage pairings, this role is central to creating meaningful and memorable dining experiences. Role Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Provide personalized, elevated service in a welcoming, nature-inspired setting.
- Guide guests through seasonal menus and beverage offerings.
- Follow steps of service with consistency
- Anticipate guest needs and deliver prompt, thoughtful attention throughout service.
- Create a calm, intentional atmosphere that encourages return visits.
- Greet and engage guests with enthusiasm, poise, and genuine hospitality.
- Thrive in the details – actively listening, to accurately account for allergies, preferences and needs
- Take and accurately input orders using the Toast POS system.
- Deliver food and beverages in a timely and polished manner.
- Offer refined tableside wine service and engaging beverage presentations.
- M aintain cleanliness and organization across all service areas.
- Process payments accurately and follow café standards.
- Conduct menu tours that demonstrate in-depth knowledge of dish preparation, ingredient sourcing, and local purveyors.
- Confidently explain specials and seasonal updates.
- Recommend well-matched food and drink pairings.
- Educate guests on our beverage menu, including wines, craft beers, non-alcoholic drinks, and specialty coffees.
- Complete seasonal menu testing, as directed
- Support teammates and jump in where needed during service.
- Work collaboratively with peers, respecting that we all play a part in the guest experience.
- Adapt to evolving guest needs and pacing in a dynamic dining environment.
- Participate in daily team meetings and seasonal tastings to stay aligned.
- Previous experience in an elevated, high-volume environment preferred.
- Friendly, guest-focused communicator with a poised, professional presence.
- Ability to multitask while staying calm and organized under pressure.
- Passionate about hospitality, food, and sustainability.
- Familiarity with POS systems (Toast).
- Flexible availability preferred- may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays.
- Physically able to:
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Stand, bend, reach, and move for extended periods
