Area Manager – Multi‑Unit Café Leadership

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to support multiple franchise bakery café locations throughout the Philadelphia market. This role serves as a trusted business partner to franchise owners, providing operational guidance, coaching, and performance insights to help cafés deliver exceptional guest experiences while improving sales, profitability, and operational consistency.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting multi-unit restaurant or retail operations and excels at building relationships, coaching operators, and driving brand standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support franchise owners and General Managers in achieving operational excellence.
• Conduct regular café visits to evaluate brand standards, food quality, cleanliness, and guest experience.
• Coach franchise operators on best practices for operations, profitability, inventory, labor, and guest service.
• Analyze business performance and help identify opportunities to improve sales and financial results.
• Support new café openings, remodels, and operational initiatives.
• Assist with training, onboarding, and development of franchise leadership teams.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and brand standards.
• Partner with internal departments to support franchise success and market growth.
• Build strong relationships with franchise owners and serve as their primary operational resource.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1–3+ years of multi-unit, franchise operations, or restaurant management experience.
• Experience in bakery cafés, coffee concepts, fast casual, hospitality, or retail food service preferred.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, guest service, inventory management, and basic P&L.
• Experience with POS systems (Toast preferred).
• Excellent coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple locations and priorities.
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned market.
