Our Client is a fast-growing, family-owned premium coffee distributor with deep roots in traditional coffee craftsmanship and a strong presence in the New Jersey and New York Metro Area. Serving independent cafés, restaurants, hotels, offices, and specialty retailers, the company is known for its high-quality products, hands-on service, and long-term partnerships within the specialty coffee and hospitality community.
As part of an ambitious growth strategy, our Client is seeking a Sales Manager - NYC and NJ to lead and scale commercial operations across the NJ / NY metro area. This is a leadership role for a driven sales professional with strong industry experience, ready to take ownership of a territory, develop high-performing teams, and accelerate business growth.
MISSION
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, leading and developing a team of sales representatives, and expanding the company’s footprint across the region. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution and requires a passion for coffee, hospitality, and relationship-driven selling.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales representatives across the territory
- Define and execute a scalable sales strategy aligned with growth objectives
- Drive new business acquisition across cafés, restaurants, hotels, offices, and specialty retail accounts
- Expand and strengthen key accounts through consultative selling and tailored solutions (blends, equipment, private label programs)
- Establish clear KPIs, performance targets, and accountability frameworks for the sales team
- Oversee the full sales cycle, from pipeline development to closing and long-term account growth
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify new opportunities
- Collaborate closely with internal roasting, operations, and service teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience
- Represent the company at industry events, tastings, and key client engagements
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- 4+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably within food & beverage, coffee, or hospitality
- Minimum 1+ years of experience leading or managing a sales team
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets and scaling sales operations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, coach, and develop high-performing teams
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on, execution-driven approach
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Passion for specialty coffee and hospitality is highly valued
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing a territory independently
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle and willingness to travel within NJ / NY metro area
- Proficiency with CRM systems and MS Office tools
