Role Description The Operations Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Savannah, GA, responsible for overseeing daily operational activities across PERC COFFEE’s locations and business units. This role ensures smooth, efficient workflows in production, retail, and distribution, while maintaining product quality, safety standards, and consistent customer experience. The Operations Director will lead and coach operational teams, optimize staffing and scheduling, monitor key performance indicators, and manage budgets and inventory. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing operational data, refining processes, partnering with leadership on strategic initiatives, and supporting cross-functional projects that improve efficiency and service. The individual will collaborate closely with customer-facing teams to align operations with brand values and enhance the overall guest experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory management
o Maintain inventory of all green coffee, packaging, merch, brew gear, and packing items
o Maintain accountability of all items, ensuring valid tracking of all items leaving inventory
o Collaborate with creative team to select vendors, finding the best cost and process for the best
product
Compliance
o Ensure compliance with all local and national food safety and labor regulations
Process improvement
o Track, analyze, and optimize order fulfillment times
o Minimize fulfillment errors
o Build and maintain operations and supply chain models in Google Sheets; you are the ERP
o Develop and implement plans for production to meet forecast sales growth
o Minimize COGS to meet or beat budget without sales-impacting stock outs
Production planning
o Ensure adequate staffing for roasting, packing, and distribution
o Mitigate demand variance imposed by lumpy sales
o Oversee purchasing and maintenance of all production equipment
o Ensure roaster (machine) preventative maintenance is scheduled and executed
o Oversee facilities management, including access control, scheduled and unscheduled building
maintenance, and work area optimization
Production execution
o Plan and sequence production roasting, bag filling, and order fulfillment
o Compile and fulfill all orders from all channels within roast-to-ship and click-to-ship standards
o Directly lead and manage production manager(s)
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- COGS vs budget (variance analysis)
- Share of orders fulfilled outside of click-to-ship target
- Share of orders fulfilled outside of roast-to-ship target
- Order error rate
- Sales missed due to stock-out
- Inventory on hand
REQUIREMENTS
2+ years experience in manufacturing or supply chain leadership
Degree in industrial engineering or supply chain management, MBA with operations, supply chain,
or process improvement concentration,
or Six Sigma black belt certification with demonstrated application.
Passion for coffee
Food safety certifications (may be completed upon hire)
